Trojan Horrors

This intermission story was posted out of sequence, during King of the Road between Jul 30 and Aug 7 2004. However, the events therein occur between strips in Consummation (specifically, the Apr 15 (upper strip) and Apr 18 strips).
Story
Moments after Joyce and Walky's devirginising 15-second romp in a hotel bed [1], Walky says "We'll get better at that, right?", to which Joyce responds with "Hey, we've got all night." Walky's not sure - Joe only managed to convince him to take one "Sexy Emergency" condom, and he's fine without trying again for the night. However, Joyce is firm - they Need to try again, and therefore they Are going out to get more. Walky surrenders. [2]
When they reach a convenience store, they're both too nervous to actually go in to buy the condoms - and in trying to convince Walky to do it so she doesn't have to, Joyce's reasons are equally applicable to her and so she gets dragged in too. [3] They go in hesitantly, when Joyce gets an idea - they'll buy a load of other items to disguise what they're in for. Unfortunately, as she lists the items she's randomly grabbed, she realises they all have sex-related uses and drops them, shocked [4].
Walky then says they should just get them. Joyce, downcast, agrees and asks what aisle they're in; to which Walky adds the question of what size they should get, which starts Joyce nervously laughing [5]. Walky takes the hint that he's "small" and angrily shouts, asking who else she's even seen to compare. She says that, while they were gender-swapped in Canada, she "peeked" [6]. As his volume gets louder in response, she shushes him, asking if he wants the whole store to hear, and he petulantly says that maybe he didn't want to have sex any more. A stare from her garners the admission that it's an obvious lie, but she stops him [7]. Putting her arms around him, she smiles and says that she loves him and "every single part" of him [8].
The cashier then interrupts, embarrassed having heard the whole exchange, and suggests they get a giant box of condoms so that they won't need to get any again for years. Spending $67.58 on one of the boxes, they rush back to their hotel, feeling very embarrassed again [9].
