Strip: It's Walky!//Fans! crossover
Start Date: April 20, 2003
End Date: May 25, 2003

The Seventh Power was the fifth story in the "Rise and Fall" arc and part of the third "Fans!" book. The Science Fiction club from Fans! finds itself in the Walkyverse. It was the second collaboration David Willis had done for "It's Walky!".

The story takes its name from an energy that keeps parallel universes apart. Scientists have known about steam, electrical, chemical, mechanical, solar, and nuclear power, but the nature of a multiverse creates a new, seventh power: the power of hope.

Story

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

After detecting reality-warping energy in Salt Lake City, SEMME dispatches Squadron 128 to investigate. Sensitive Scanner also discovers this anomaly, and tells Monkey Master, who in turn tells Head Alien when he walks in. After MM defuses the Sensitive Scanner, the Head Alien also proceeds to investigate.

This anomaly reveals itself to be a Science Fiction club from a parallel universe, having fallen into a distortion in reality, apparently the result of being exposed to magic and time travel in a relatively short time of one another.

The SF Club hijack a trailer for security in timeline they find themselves. The Head Alien shortly destroys it and kidnaps two of the members, Meighan and Shanna. Meanwhile, the F.I.B. calls in a man named Mist to bring back the Fans.

SEMME arrives on the scene and drives off the Head Alien. Joyce is sent to make first contact with the SF Club. Joyce decides on the spot to trust Rikk, reminding him of how his wife once trusted him the same way. His wife Alisin is shocked by the sudden trust.

Meanwhile, Head Alien attempts to torture his captives, but his diminutive size renders him ineffective in intimidating Shanna, while Meighan had passed out from being strapped upside-down.

Once the Fans boarded the SEMME craft, Mike systematically insulted them while Dina obtained samples for analysis. Professor Doc confirms that they are inter-dimensional travelers.

Rikk and Joyce went to the back of the craft to pray without disturbing the others. Alisin overheard snippets of what they were talking about and they compounded her fears that her and Rikk's marriage might be over.

While SEMME and the SF Club pursued the Head Alien, Joe attempted to seduce Jackie. In the process, he is surprised to learn she isn't turned off by his love of Transformers and that a mature woman would appreciate his mechanical inclinations.

Rikk talks with Walky about command decisions, and about how people can die as the result of a rash decision. He tries to get Walky to think plans through with no success. At that moment, the Wanderer rips open the Head Alien's ship, stating that because Meighan and Shanna already have counterparts in his universe, he claims right of salvage.

However, Mist has also laid a claim to the hostage fans and expanded his claim to include his competitors, Head Alien and The Cheese. Much to the latters's surprise, he is powerless, cut off from Creation. With The Cheese and Head Alien helpless, Tony sees this as the perfect time to destroy two of SEMME's greatest enemies. Walky reluctantly agrees that they must take the opportunity provided.

The Fans refuse to allow two of their own become collateral damage, and begin fighting SEMME. Walky orders Joyce to use her giant pulsating gun while she has the chance, but Rumy attacks her, causing them to both fly into the cockpit of the SEMME craft. Dina attempts to fire the cannon, but Rumy stops her and Joyce. Rumy tells Joyce that Joyce fights honorably and believes that Joyce will choose honorably, even if that means going against Walky's orders. Rumy then ties Alisin's chain around her leg and jumps into the inferno.

Meanwhile, Shanna indicates to Mist a willingness to negotiate in exchange for the SF Club's relase. All seven Club members disappeared and found themselves in a bugged F.I.B. room.

Back at SEMME, Dina and Doc review the data gathered. As Walky leaves the room, Joyce reflects on her relationship with Walky and how there are no secrets between them. But like Alisin, when sometimes when her lover becomes quiet, she's afraid.

Later, another random conquest, Joe finds himself discontented, thinking about Jackie.
