Martian DNA and Alien DNA

Just what have the abductees been augmented with? Is it Alien DNA or Martian DNA? Because I could swear the reason that Walky and Sal were special was because they alone had Martian DNA. McFS 13:09, 14 February 2007 (CST)

Walky and Sal were born naturally with Martian DNA because of their mother's resurrection. The Head Alien then abducted everyone and modified them to be stronger and have special powers. Some of this augmentation was based on stuff gleaned from Walky and Sal's DNA, and so most of the abductees are, in part, weaker copies, but none other than the resurrectees and those born from resurrectees have real Martian DNA. --ItsWalky 13:14, 14 February 2007 (CST)
Given that, how come Walky & Sal have the Alien-tech-affinity thing? The Aliens play around with them too? - SoM talk page 14:51, 23 February 2007 (CST)
Yes, the Head Alien also messed with the Walkerton twins' powers. --ItsWalky 13:58, 25 February 2007 (CST)
That's because the Alien technology they have an affinity for is ripped from martian technology.
Oh, and how come Joyce could use the Power Booster Rod without Martian DNA? - SoM talk page 13:25, 25 February 2007 (CST)
Anyone can use the Power Booster Rod. You could use it, but you'd only be able to light up, say, your bedroom. Sal was powerful enough to light up continents. --ItsWalky 13:58, 25 February 2007 (CST)
Then why can't the JFO and The Cheese use it if anyone can? The Martian DNA thing is brandied about a lot in the comic and this wiki, if I recall correctly. (This is something I've wondered for a long time, actually - what mechanism exactly prevents the JFO and the Cheese from using it but letting Sal, Joyce, and Walky do so?) --Asimperson 22:29, 25 February 2007 (CST)
It's a Power Booster Rod. It's an amplifier. It's only as proportionally strong as the person who uses it. Penny couldn't do much of anything with it, regardless of what universe she's from. --ItsWalky 22:43, 25 February 2007 (CST)
So the Martian DNA makes them strong enough to actually do any damage with the thing, then.--Asimperson 01:37, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Martians aren't from Mars?

Aren't the Martians originally from Mars? It's repeatedly referred to as their "homeworld." And since humans lacked the technology for space travel, how could Mars be where the Martians were "first encountered?" (Sorry about the countless errors I'm sure I've made; the Editing help page doesn't exist and I've never edited a wiki before.)

Mars is just a forward base that was destroyed. If Mars was their homeworld, the reinforcements wouldn't take so long to arrive. Remember, the whole purpose of the abductees was to fight them, and it took awhile to grow them.--207.121.52.21 15:37, 27 February 2007 (CST)
Mars is dead, but it's where they originally came from before spreading out across the galaxy. And they seemingly don't have FTL travel. [1] [2] - SoM talk page 16:21, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Social Structure?

How do we know anything about Martian "castes"? Is this just an extrapolation based on the organization of their army? --Asimperson 02:46, 13 March 2007 (CDT)

The Cheese

The Cheese is a creation of the Martians? Or is that just fan speculation?--Austin 08:23, 25 December 2007 (CST)

The Cheese is definitely not a creation of the Martians. I didn't touch much on the origin of the "suit" at all. --ItsWalky 00:21, 26 December 2007 (CST)
