"Robo-Vac"
Strip: Roomies!
Start Date: January 20, 1998
End Date: February 5, 1998

The seventh storyline of Roomies!, "Robo-Vac" is a sidestep into the storyline of Robo-Vac, a vacuum superhero. It also develops Sarah's and Joyce's characters, and shares some of the authors thoughts on religion and astrology. Contains 13 black-and-white comics.

Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

This storyline begins with Joe and Danny getting a mint copy of Robo-Vac #1, the first issue of their favorite superhero series. Tom Hoover, a Chicago detective, is trying to capture the Dust Bunny, a clinically insane villain in a rabbit suit. Joe and Danny flip ahead in the book to the point where Hoover gets turned into Robo-Vac by touching a vacuum handle when his house gets struck by lightning. Both men are disenchanted by the sudden transformation of their idol, but continue to read. Robo-Vac is confused at first, thinking he's some sort of door-to-door salesman, but eventually decides to commit himself to "the purging of crime, hatred, and the Spice Girls". Joe makes a quip about Robo-Vac dealing with all sorts of social issues, which he obviously doesn't. The two decide that they could probably make a better comic themselves, but instead decide to watch TV.

Trivia

The strip with the introduction of the Dust Bunny[1] is omitted in Roomies! Book One.
