Ralphie Zinobop is the compassionate, friendly, and timid anti-clone of Ralph Zinobop. He has all of Ralph's memories up to the moment of his creation and shares Ralph's ingenious intellect, but he lacks all the bitterness and resentment that defines Ralph as a person. Ralphie is very prone to worry, occasionally to the point of paranoia or neurosis. When he's not attempting to fix temporal paradoxes, Ralphie happily acts as the Science Officer of the starship Steel Duck, having given his previous role of navigator to Jalea Bates.

Ralphie is one of the main characters of Steve Troop's webcomic, Melonpool. Steve Troop is a personal friend of It's Walky! creator David Willis, and the two of them organized a crossover between their respective webcomics in 2001, during which time Ralphie was one of several Melonpool characters who appeared in It's Walky!.

Backstory

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

A few months after first crashing on Earth, Mayberry Melonpool, Captain of the Steel Duck, was hit on the head with a wrench, causing him to believe he was fictional character Captain Kirk. In order to find him and restore his true memory, Ralph re-engineered the Steel Duck's sensors into a handheld device that tracks lifeforms based on their species' DNA.

Ralphie was created when Ralph accidentally shot himself with the Dup-O-Matic while trying to duplicate his ship for spare parts. He was then given the position of navigator and made an official member of the Steel Duck crew, along with Mayberry, engineer Ralph, pilot Sam T. Dogg, engine Sammy the giant mutant hamster, and medical officer Roberta Smeffinfeffer. Ralph eventually repaired the Steel Duck, and the crew returned to space.

However, the additional crew members began to exhaust the Steel Duck's air supply, forcing Ralph to go back to Earth and modify the ship's life support features. Ralphie had the ship land in the La Brea Tarpits, which he mistakenly thought was an abandoned parking lot. While staying with No-da, an amoral Jedi, Ralph discovered a broken down protocol droid named JLB-8, which he remodeled into a robotic pop singer named Jalea Bates. Acting as her manager, Ralph plotted to make Jalea famous and use her a source of income. After a few performances, Jalea was nominated for a Grammy.

When Ralph went missing during Jalea's performance at the Grammys, Mayberry hurried back to No-da's apartment to inform the rest of the crew. Remembering the handheld sensor device Ralph invented, Ralphie began tracking Zinoboppian DNA. As he, Mayberry, and Jalea followed the trial, they encountered SEMME agents David "Walky" Walkerton, Sal Walters, and Joyce Brown, who had seen Mayberry without his disguise on the Grammys. The two groups decided to join forces. Deducing that Ralph had been abducted by Head Alien, the six of them traveled to his base.

After Jalea incapacitated two Alien guards, Mayberry and Ralphie took their masks and weapons to disguise themselves. Sneaking into the base, they found Ralph just as Head Alien was about to kill him. He was thwarted by Jalea, who was split in half by the laser blast she took for Ralph. Due to his pacifistic nature, Ralphie was the only one who didn't help fight Head Alien's minions, much to Sal's annoyance.

Ralph used the Dup-O-Matic to create an army of anti-Aliens, as well as Anti-Head Alien and Anti-Joyce. In the ensuing chaos, Ralph had Jalea's lower half power the ship, but he was sucked out of a giant hole in the hull during take-off. He was caught by Jalea's upper half, who was holding onto Sal, who was herself holding onto an extension cord attached to the ship. Mayberry helped all three of them back onto the ship, convincing Sal that the Steel Duck Crew was benign and harmless. SEMME agreed to keep their existence a secret.

Ralph repaired the Steel Duck, and Ralphie left Earth with the rest of the crew yet again. He has since lost contact with SEMME.
