Power Rangers

Power Rangers is a television series (and accompanying toy line) that were once extremely popular (Wikipedia).

Upon reading a factually incorrect Wikipedia entry asserting that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie was not part of the main canon simply due to its higher production values and slight continuity differences, Ethan became annoyed at how lazy and judgmental he perceived modern fandoms to be (as opposed to his own generation of fans, whom he felt could justify any continuity change - such as, big surprise, those in Transformers, if given enough effort).

Later, Ethan was impressed by the fandom's impassioned response to his criticism and made an attempt to watch the show. However, Ethan himself had never watched Power Rangers, and upon making the attempt, found the opening sequence alone far too campy even for his fanboy taste.
