It's Roomies! is an intermission story in It's Walky, leaving aside the cliffhanger from the end of Minus One to focus for its first week entirely on Roomies! characters who had not been carried over to the main cast of It's Walky!, and updating their status.
After the first week, Walky - having gone AWOL from SEMME at the start of Minus One to search for Joyce's past - turns up on that search and interacts with the Roomies! group for the remainder of the storyline, but the cliffhanger of M1 is not dealt with until the next story, Hurricane Joyce.
Story
Danny, Joe, Billie and Howard move into a two-bedroomed house for the new semester, with Billie promptly sticking Joe's pinup poster up his posterior. When it is discovered Billie needs corrective lenses, the glasses she initially gets send the male inhabitants of the house wild with desire, leading her to break the glasses and storm out to purchase contact lenses.
On her way back in the rain, Walky sees her and stops (soaking Mary in the process), and she recognises him with a start. After a brief argument over calling him Walky, he gives her a lift back to the Roomies' house (soaking Mary a second time), and it is revealed that they went to High School together - and that Billie stopped talking to him when she became a cheerleader.
When they arrive, Billie takes Walky in to meet the others, and Danny promptly freaks out over Walky's close resemblance to his old girlfriend Sal. Walky suggesting that Billie seeing Danny for over a year is unusual as "one night is usually enough" gets him a punch in the fact. Walky tries twice to draw a picture of Joyce to try and find her friends - the first time, it is a childish scribble, the second time (in a meta-reference) it's too realistic and Billie can't imagine someone looking like it.
When Billie tries to ask Walky what he's been doing since High School, his dislike of the "Walky" name and subsequent repated shouting out of Billie's full name ("Jennifer Billingsworth") leads to a fight between the two - which Walky wins, much to Joe and, especially, Danny's shock. In the aftermath, Billie says that Walky was the one who taught her to fight - and then blushes when Walky adds that he taught her to kiss, saying that it was back in kindergarden.
Walky then goes out looking for friends of "his girlfriend" and Billie's misremembered "Joy" name for her and suggestion that she would need to be "a real flakey, bubbly ditz to have any interest in Walky" rings a bell for Danny.
Joe sees Walky and asks him what the "chick" he's looking for looked like - one big triangle grin later, he's up against the wall as Joe screams at him to tell what he knows about Joyce; although a history involving throwing her stuffed animals out of the window and putting dog crap on her chair doesn't impress Walky, saying he wanted to find her friends, to which Joe sobs and admits he misses her.
Joe carries Walky by the hoodie over to Danny, claiming that "the dweeb" knows where Joyce is. When Danny says everyone knows she went to Africa to become a missionary, Walky doesn't contradict it, leading to him getting pounded by Joe. After this has stopped with no noticable injury to Walky, Danny asks what he was looking for Joyce's friends for, and Walky awkwardly claims she was just wondering how they were doing.
Danny says that he's doing very well, and that Sarah transferred to complete her degree. He adds they probably shouldn't mention Billie, and Joe clarifies that it's because Joyce had a huge crush on Danny, which shocks Walky and leads to Danny saying that Joyce had even told her parents that she was engaged to Danny at one point. Then, she'd vanished without explanation. Overwhelmed by the news, Walky - again awkwardly - takes his leave and bangs his head off a wall.
On his way out, Billie interrupts him and tells him to keep in contact, and they swap e-mail addresses (although, after giving out his dwalkerton@semme.gov e-mail, Walky hastily decides to give her his hotmail address instead).
After he leaves, Danny's still not sure about Walky over his resemblance to Sal, and Joe and Howard look over a series of pictures of Billie with glasses, much to her shock and their excitment.
