Whitney Howard Lesse is Ruth's younger brother. A huge Trekkie (and scifi fan in general), he was the most affected by Ruth's death, as he was left alone in the world. However, he eventually made up with Danny and rented a house with him, Joe and Jennifer Billingsworth.
History
Their next-door neighbor in the second year of Roomies!, Howard quickly became the object of Joe's tormentations[1], the bullied geek for the bullying jock. However, Joe was quickly faced with Howard's highly protective sister Ruth, who beat him up after she found out what he'd done. The two still clashed, and Howard became somewhat friends with Danny as well.
When Ruth died, a wedge was driven between Howard and Danny, with his already present introversion being amplified further. Making little effort to break himself out of his depression, he moved in with Ron and Carly, becoming the punchbag of Ron in particular. It was only when Danny finally grew a spine at the end of Roomies! that he spotted Ron and earned Howard's respect.
Howard was then later seen renting a house with Danny, Joe and Billie, and joined Danny in attacking the Martian mothership with Joe and Rachel.
Trivia
- Howard's name is yet another pun. Whitney Howard Lesse, when shortened, makes Whit Lesse (or witless). Oh Willis, how creative you are.
- Howard is another character that dates back to before the inception of Roomies!, featuring in several Ultra Car stories under the name of "Mike".
