Becky is Joyce Brown's new best friend. Or, at least, that's what Joyce decided almost immediately after meeting her, and so she made it her mad crusade. Luckily, Becky is happy to play the part.
Though Becky and Joyce have a lot in common, there are some differences between them that cause conflict. For example, Becky is more confident, independent, and is less insecure than Joyce can sometimes be. Becky is also a more traditionally-grounded Christian than Joyce is, and so Joyce will often play down how liberal her faith is in comparison to help facilitate their ongoing friendship. Becky notices Joyce does this, and she hates it. She'd rather people just be honest about themselves.
